The Judicial Planning Working Group was established by Government Decision on 20 April 2021 to consider the number of and type of judges required to ensure the efficient administration of justice over the next five years. The group is comprised of representatives from Department of Justice, Department of the Taoiseach, Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, Office of the Attorney General, and the Courts Service and former Secretary General of the Department of Education, Ms Brigid McManus is serving as independent Chairperson.
