Ambassador Samantha Power
IWLA are thrilled to announce that Ambassador Samantha Power, current Anna Lindh Professor of the Practice of Global Leadership and Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy Law School and William D. Zabel ’61 Professor of Practice in Human Rights at Harvard Law School, former Special Assistant to President Barack Obama and the 28th United States Ambassador to the United Nations, will become an honorary member of the Irish Women Lawyers Association.

The Committee is delighted that Ambassador Power has accepted our invitation of Honorary Membership which recognises her incredible career to date and continued commitment to the pursuit of justice and human rights, not to mention her Irish roots! Hailed by President Obama as “one of our foremost thinkers on foreign policy”, Ambassador Power has written about her fascinating career in her most recent publication; “The Education of an Idealist.” Should you wish to learn more about her work, we highly recommend reading this book, which is sure to inspire you. You can also find further information on her website samanthapower.com. The IWLA is very proud to have Ambassador Power as an honorary member and hope to have the privilege of presenting her with this membership at a future date in Dublin.
